SIORCAS CHAMBER ORCHESTRA
A new Finnish orchestra playing old Irish music.

The artists of Siorcas Chamber Orchestra come from different musical genres,
but all unquestioning with special talent.
At conductor-violinist Dmitri Slobodeniouk´s and folk musician Petri Keinonen´s
call have nine musicians gathered together to create brand new sound,
inspired on Irish musical culture.
The artists are playing in the most significant Finnish symphony orchestras
and in internationally appreciated and awarded free ensembles.
The repertoire contains old music from Irish composers like O´Carolan as well
as traditional pieces that have stepped along from player to another.
The arrangements are made especially for Siorcas Chamber Orchestra.
The recital is visualised with photographic scene by Terho Aalto.

Dmitri Slobodeniouk has studied under the guidance of Atso Almila,
Leif Segerstam and Jorma Panula and graduated with a conductor diploma
with highest possible credits.
At the moment he is the Artistic leader for Oulu Sinfonia and a regular guest
in most of the Finnish orchestras as well as abroad.
